For over 20 years, Genesis Community Health has provided low-income uninsured Treasure Valley neighbors with free medical, dental, and mental health care as an expression of the love of Jesus Christ. They are a grassroots 501(c)3 nonprofit clinic supported by over 250 active volunteers as well as donors, businesses, churches, and foundations throughout the Treasure Valley. A small but passionate staff comes alongside those volunteers to bring health, healing, and hope to our neighbors.
Steve, CEO
Steve brings over 25 years of business leadership and marketing experience to the organization. Most recently he served as CEO of WISH Medical, a specialized faith-based nonprofit medical clinic in Moscow, Idaho. Steve spent five years in Moscow helping to start a church plant from Crossroads Community Church and in 2016 returned to Boise to be closer to his parents and family. Prior to 2011, he was blessed with the opportunity to spend 16 years with Micron Technology in marketing.
Steve is a native of Idaho and has been married to his college sweetheart for 25 years. They have two daughters who attended the University of Idaho, and their son attends Boise State University. Steve has a passion for showing the love of Christ to others. Combining his business skills with his passion, the board feels Steve will be a great fit as the CEO.
Josh, Director of Operations
Josh returned to Genesis in 2023 after two years working as the Director of Family and Clinic Services at Southwest District Health in Caldwell, Idaho. Previous to this, he had been part of Genesis since 2014. He has a bachelor’s degree in biblical literature and theology with a minor in intercultural studies from Multnomah University and a Master’s in Public Health from Idaho State University. Josh loves being at Genesis because he gets to see Jesus transform patients, staff, and volunteers daily. He believes it’s a place that one can’t help but feel God’s presence, regardless of their spiritual background.
Josh is married to his amazing wife Janet and has 3 kids—Isaiah, Aden, and Rebekah. They love to travel, spend time with people, and do anything that involves being outside. Josh also has a passion for the nations coming to know Christ and has been to, or lived in, Brazil, Yemen, Sierra Leone, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea.
Kristy, Dental Clinic Coordinator
After a few years away, Kristy rejoins Genesis as the Dental Coordinator. She has a heart for those in need and enjoys sharing the love of Christ. She and her husband of nearly 30 years have two grown children, her daughter Meagan, who recently got married to Bogan, and her son Cadence, who is finishing his degree.
She loves spending time with her family, and their goldendoodle, Kiah.
She enjoys the work that is done through Genesis and strives to share love and encouragement with those in our community.
Linda, Community Health Coordinator
Linda joined the Genesis staff in March 2020 as the Community Health Coordinator. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with concentrations in Medical Sociology and Family and Interpersonal Relationships. She comes to Genesis with a wealth of case management,
administrative and non-profit experience. She enjoys working with a committed team of people to facilitate the mission and vision of the organization.
Linda has happily called Idaho home since 2004 and she appreciates all that Idaho has to offer. Outside of work, Linda is an avid reader who enjoys hiking, photography and walks on the greenbelt with friends or her dog Harley.
Linda is an ordained deacon. The ministry of the deacon is an expression of the Church turned towards the world: seeing the needs, hopes, and concerns of those outside the church, and proclaiming in word and deed the Good News of the Gospel. Linda has a deep love for the Church body and highly values caring for others both inside and outside the church. She seeks to love and serve the Lord by serving the lost, weak, and marginalized in the community.
Lisa, Front Office Coordinator
Lisa joined the Genesis family in September 2019.
She comes to the clinic with a background in early elementary education, where she has been educating young hearts for the past 10 years. Her love for Jesus, serving in the community, and people of diverse nationalities make Genesis a perfect place for her to be.
Lisa is excited to partner with the team here at Genesis to bring encouragement and practical help to those in need. When she is not serving at the clinic, you can find her discovering God’s fingerprints in nature, hiking the National Parks, paddle boarding, or on adventures with her family and 2 granddaughters.
Danielle, Dental Assistant
Danielle graduated as a certified dental assistant from CWI and started serving in the local community at different venues such as the AMEN BOISE clinic, Genesis’ refugee clinics and a private dental practice.
In her free time, she enjoys visiting local ice cream shops with her husband and 2 kids, floating down the river in the summer, and traveling to experience new cultures. Raised as a missionary kid in France, she is excited that God led her to use her skills at Genesis and be an encouragement to the people we serve.
Sheila, Medical Clinic Coordinator- Caldwell
Sheila first volunteered about 10 years ago with Canyon Community Clinic, when they first opened.
Then, life became too busy. Then she heard there was a need for volunteers in 2018 and volunteered at that time. When Garden City and Canyon Clinic merged, she became the Medical Coordinator for the Canyon site of Genesis.
Sheila worked at St Alphonsus hospital for 40 years. Then moved to the VA for a few years, before coming to Genesis. She has loved being a nurse her whole life. It has always been a way for her to help others.
Working at Genesis is the perfect way to show the love of Jesus through nursing, and to meet the needs of people in our community. It is very rewarding to reach out to those who become a patient. She enjoys the Godly leadership and coworkers who are also wanting to share Jesus.
She and her husband are retired. But that word “retired” is loosely used. They are raising their 4-year-old grandson who keeps them moving. Sheila loves to garden and has quite a yard that keeps her healthy. She also like to read when she has the chance. They love camping and hiking. They also have a small band of sheep that keeps her husband out of trouble.
Angie, Front Office Coordinator- Caldwell
Angie originally came to Genesis looking to volunteer and serve the community, but after seeing the need and believing in Genesis’ mission, she soon joined the team as Front Desk Coordinator.
Angie, graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with a degree in social work, emphasizing her studies in human behavior, criminal justice, and political science. Angie is a caring, observant, and thoughtful individual who takes her service to the social work field and her faith seriously. She believes in being an agent for positive change and showing the love of Christ through her work.
When Angie is not serving her community or church, she can be found solving puzzles, enjoying good food, traveling, reading a good book, or spending time with her family and friends.
Rita, Volunteer Coordinator
Rita has been a volunteer with Genesis since 2019 and transitioned into the Volunteer Coordinator position in 2020. She has thirty years in the banking industry and ten years in the nonprofit sector. She has a passion for nonprofits and giving back to her community.

Libbie joined Genesis in March of 2022 but has been a volunteer since August 2018. She holds an associates in biomolecular sciences from CWI and a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from BSU. Libbie spent her childhood with her grandma in Guadalajara, Mexico, and enjoys interpreting for Spanish-speaking patients. She has a heart for migrant and undocumented communities in the valley and is wanting to pursue a Master of Public Health degree from BSU.
Libbie really enjoys visual arts and written arts and is often found at coffee shops. In her free time Libbie enjoys watching films, reading books, and spending time with family and friends.
Lesley, Medical Clinic Coordinator – Garden City
Lesley joined Genesis in October of 2023. She attended Azusa Pacific University and began her career at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
She spent most of her career as a Registered Nurse in nursing leadership and operations. After 46 years in nursing, she retired. She quickly realized that she was not ready for retirement and needed to find an opportunity to serve. She found the perfect opportunity to volunteer at Genesis. She couldn’t help but feel the Holy Spirit actively moving in the clinic.
She has 2 adult children, a daughter who lives in Star with her husband and a son in Southern California. She enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and engaging in a women’s bible study through Rockharbor. Jesus is her rock who has provided her with an abundant life. Her desire is to serve others and give back since she has been given much.
